Twenty-two children, aged seven to fifteen, who were riding in a taxi that lost control this afternoon on Intake Road, which branches off Wybank Road in Kloof, have suffered light to moderate injuries.

When Redline Response paramedics got there, Provincial EMS was already there.

When the medics looked more closely, they discovered that the cab had struck a street pole and a barrier before coming to rest.

The Provincial service, which had taken some of the victims to the hospital, received assistance from Redline Paramedics.

When emergency responders got on the site, it’s thought that all of the patients were located outside of the taxi.

They were given modest to moderate medical attention for their wounds before being sent to different hospitals in the larger

Durban area for additional medical attention.

Although the reason for the taxi driver’s loss of control of the car is unknown, the required authorities were on the scene and will look into the event further.

The event caused a short delay in traffic.

Authorities were present to assist and conduct additional investigations.
