Taiwo Oyedele is a highly accomplished professional with a deep understanding of fiscal policy, taxation, and economics.
Currently serving as the tax leader for PwC Africa, Oyedele holds key positions in prestigious organizations alongside his role at PwC.
Educational Background and Personal Life
Oyedele pursued his education at renowned institutions.
He attended the Gordons Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in 2012 and the Yale School of Management in 2014.
Additionally, he has studied at the Harvard Kennedy School, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and other esteemed institutions.
Oyedele, who was born in Lagos, Nigeria, is married and has two children. He is of Yoruba descent and practices Christianity.
Career Trajectory and Achievements
Oyedele’s career began at PwC in 2001 when he served as a youth Corper (National Youth Service Corps member).
Impressed by his skills, PwC retained him as a Junior Associate after his youth service.
He steadily progressed within the organization, becoming a Senior Associate in 2003 and an Assistant Manager in Kenya in 2006.
In 2007, he achieved the position of Senior Manager.
In July 2009, Oyedele assumed the role of Fiscal Policy Partner and West African Tax Leader at PwC. Later, in 2021, he was appointed as the Fiscal Policy Partner and African Tax Leader at PwC.
These positions reflect his expertise in fiscal policy, taxation, and economic matters.
Diverse Roles and Contributions
Beyond his work at PwC, Oyedele has held several notable positions.
He serves as the Thematic Lead for the Fiscal Policy & Planning Commission and holds the chairmanship of the West Africa Debt Management Roundtable at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
Furthermore, he chairs the Taxation and Fiscal Policy Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and is a member of the Nigerian Taxation Standards Board.
He has also been involved in the Ministerial Committee responsible for implementing Nigeria’s National Tax Policy.
Oyedele’s expertise extends globally as he is a member of the Global Tax Forum and previously served on the Global Governing Council of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
He is also an Associate Professor at the Babcock University Business School and shares his knowledge as a guest lecturer at the Lagos Business School.
Oyedele is the Founder and President of the Impact Africa Foundation.
