Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria Appeals for Aid to Palestinian People
In a press conference held in Abuja, the President of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN), Sheikh AbdurRasheed Hadiyyatullah, has issued a plea to the Federal Government to provide essential relief materials to Palestinians who are facing critical shortages of food, clothing, medicine, and other necessities.
Call for National and Faith-Based Assistance
Sheikh AbdurRasheed Hadiyyatullah has also urged Nigerian humanitarian organizations, as well as places of worship, to extend their support to the distressed Palestinian population.
The SCSN, in its call for action, has implored all Muslims and individuals of various faiths to offer special prayers, invoking divine assistance from Allah, The Most High, for the Palestinian people and all oppressed communities worldwide.
Urgent Humanitarian Aid Request
Highlighting the dire situation in Palestine, the President emphasized the urgency for the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide essential relief supplies to the besieged Palestinian population.
The SCSN’s concern extends to the ongoing tragedy in Palestine, describing it as both a criminal act and a failure of global institutions established after World War II to safeguard human rights against tyranny.
A Call for Emulation and International Involvement
Sheikh AbdurRasheed Hadiyyatullah has further emphasized the need for Nigeria to follow the example set by South Africa’s government and opposition party, which condemned the actions of the State of Israel.
Additionally, the cleric called upon the international community to address the root causes of the ongoing conflict.
These statements from the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria underline their deep concern for the suffering in Palestine and their strong appeal for humanitarian support from the Federal Government and various organizations, while also advocating for international attention to the underlying issues of the conflict.
