Nigeria’s Pledge to Triumph in AFCON 2023 for President Bola Tinubu
The Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, have fervently committed to securing victory in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as a tribute to President Bola Tinubu.
Their promise stems from the Nigeria Football Federation’s acknowledgment of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a catalyst for their success in the quarter-final match.
NFF President’s Gratitude and Tinubu’s Support
Expressing his gratitude, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau spoke to NAN in Abidjan on a Saturday, acknowledging President Tinubu’s unwavering support and dedication to sports development, specifically in football.
Gusau highlighted Tinubu’s pivotal role in motivating the team, attributing their 1-0 victory over Angola, secured by Ademola Lookman’s goal assisted by Moses Simon, to the President’s encouraging words.
President’s Commitment to Sports Development
Gusau underscored President Tinubu’s commitment to sports development, particularly in football, emphasizing the profound impact of his support on the team’s performance.
He quoted Tinubu’s motivating words to the players, urging them to believe in him and assuring them of his unwavering support to overcome any challenges they might face.
According to Gusau, Tinubu’s support showcases an unprecedented level of dedication to sports development in the history of Nigeria.
A Pledge for Trophy and Reward
The NFF President concluded by reiterating the team’s promise to President Tinubu – a commitment to bring home the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to fulfill this pledge and anticipates that President Tinubu will reward them handsomely for their historic achievement.
