Sudan: More Returnees Processed In Egypt, Arriving Soon – FG

…By Malcolm Hemsworth for TDPel Media. The Federal Government has disclosed that more evacuees are expected soon in country, following the successful airlift and safe arrival of the first evacuees from Sudan. 

In a brief post on Thursday, the Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed that officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Egypt and their Egyptian counterparts at the Egypt / Sudan border are processing more returnees.

According to the Commission, a 2nd batch of retunees are expected any moment from now.

In a quick evacuation update on Friday, NIDCOM published via Twitter that an Aircraft – B737-300 operated by Tarco Airline, has left Port Sudan International Airport.

The flight took of at 8:00am local time, with 130 Nigerian nationals (Evacuees) 128 females and 2 males.

According to the Commission, the estimated time of arrival Port Sudan (PZU) to Juba (JUB) is 2hrs 50 minutes.

There will be a stop over for one hour at Juba and the aircraft will then head to Abuja; the flight is supposed to last for about 3 hours 30minutes.

In total, the evacuees will spend 7hours 30mins to get home.

It is expected that the aircraft touches down in Abuja by 3pm local time.
