Stacey Solomon recently shared some heartbreaking news with her fans about her beloved rescue dog, Teddy.

The 35-year-old star took to Instagram to express her deep concern as Teddy, a cocker spaniel, fell seriously ill on Thursday due to a health condition that the family was unaware of.

She explained that the next few days are critical for Teddy, and even if he survives, there’s a chance he may not fully recover.

A Family’s Devastation

In her post, Stacey revealed just how much Teddy means to their family.

Alongside two pictures of herself with the dog, she wrote: “We are praying and hoping so hard that he pulls through [and] that we can care for him in the best way we possibly can to give him the best life he can have.

“We are all truly devastated.

“He is the sweetest, most protective, loving dog. He’s our family. And far too young to be going through this.”

The love and concern in her words showed how deep the bond is between the Solomons and their furry companion.

A Special Tribute to Theodore

The family adopted Teddy in 2022 after their previous dog, Theodore, passed away.

Stacey shared that the name “Teddy” was a tribute to their late dog, as it was a shortened version of Theodore.

She said: “We called him Teddy because Teddy can be short for Theodore so we thought it was a special tribute to Theo.”

The emotional connection between the two dogs was clear, and Stacey’s heartfelt message made it even more evident how much Teddy means to her family.

In her emotional post, Stacey added, “We love you Ted. So so much. Pickle cottage is far too quiet without you.

“I miss my toilet buddy. Peanut is so sad without his best friend.”

As she put it, “We didn’t pick him out but we said we would take any dog suitable for young children and another dog.

“We didn’t mind what breed, color, coat, anything as long as he would be happy and it was right. And along came Teddy.”

Ongoing Treatment

Although Stacey hasn’t disclosed the specific nature of Teddy’s health condition, she did share a photo of him with a bandage around one of his legs and catheters visible.

This suggests that Teddy is currently undergoing treatment, and the family is doing everything they can to help him recover.
