South Africans chase multimillion-rand jackpots as Lotto excitement builds across the country ahead of Wednesday’s big draw

You know that little daydream you have — the one where you’re suddenly a millionaire and planning your island escape or buying your dream car? Well, tonight might just be the night it all begins.

The Lotto, Lotto Plus 1, and Lotto Plus 2 draws are happening this evening, and there’s a massive pile of cash waiting for a winner.

If you’ve got a ticket, you’re already in the running.

If not, there’s still time to join the chase!

What’s Up for Grabs Tonight?

Here’s how the jackpots are shaping up for tonight’s draw, 14 May 2025:

  • Lotto: Estimated at R41 million

  • Lotto Plus 1: Estimated at R6 million

  • Lotto Plus 2: Estimated at R2 million

That’s a serious stack of cash.

And as the old saying goes — you’ve got to be in it to win it.

Tonight’s Winning Numbers Will Be Posted After 9PM

Once the draw happens (usually around 21:00 SA time), the winning numbers for each game will be published below.

Be sure to refresh this page after the draw if you’re checking in real-time.

When Do Lotto Draws Happen?

All Lotto, Lotto Plus 1, and Lotto Plus 2 draws take place twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday, just before 9PM, live on SABC 2 at 20:56.

Missed the Last Draw? Don’t Panic

If you forgot to check your numbers from a previous draw, you can easily catch up.

Just head over to the National Lottery’s website to view past results and payout details.

How Does the Lotto Work?

The basic Lotto game is simple but thrilling:

  • You pick six numbers between 1 and 52.

  • Or, if you’re feeling indecisive, use the Quick Pick option to let the system choose for you.

  • A Bonus Ball is drawn too, which only matters if you match five of the six main numbers.

You win a prize if you match three or more numbers, and the prize grows bigger the more numbers you match.

Match all six, and you share the jackpot with anyone else who also hits all six.

If no one wins the jackpot, it rolls over to the next draw, making it even more exciting.

The cost to play is just R5.00 per board.

What’s Lotto Plus 1?

This is your second shot at winning, using the same numbers you picked for your main Lotto ticket.

For just R2.50 extra per board, your numbers go into the Lotto Plus 1 draw, which follows the exact same format.

It was introduced way back on 26 November 2003 and has been giving players an extra chance to win ever since.

What’s Lotto Plus 2?

Want to go for it a third time? Lotto Plus 2 is yet another opportunity to win with your original Lotto numbers — also costing R2.50 per board.

It was added more recently, on 30 July 2017, and works just like the main Lotto draw, but with a different prize pool and odds.

Where Can You Buy Tickets?

Buying a ticket is easier than ever. Here’s how:

Did You Know? Winning Big Comes With Perks
