MaMkhize’s Ongoing Troubles with SARS
It seems like trouble just keeps stacking up for Royal AM owner MaMkhize.
The well-known businesswoman, who has been making waves in the media, is currently at the center of a growing dispute with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
According to SARS, MaMkhize has accumulated a significant debt—around R40 million.
The Striker Who’s Sticking to His Legal Battle
Amidst these financial woes, another story has surfaced, this time involving SuperSport United striker Samir Nurkovic.
Nurkovic is in the middle of a legal battle with Royal AM, which owes him over R15 million. While this situation drags on, Nurkovic recently opened up about his legal fight, confirming that his legal team is handling things while he stays focused on his football career.
He said, “Certain things in professional football and a career are beyond the control of the player. Some people deal with it.
” His comments make it clear that this has been an ongoing issue for over a year, with no resolution in sight.
Originally, Royal AM owed Nurkovic about R12 million, but thanks to accumulating interest, that figure has now exceeded R15 million.
The Battle with Fifa
The roots of this conflict date back to 2022, when Nurkovic took the matter to Fifa after Royal AM terminated his contract.
Fifa responded by banning the club from making transfers and ordered them to pay Nurkovic the full amount owed for his two-year contract.
However, that’s not the only financial issue MaMkhize has been dealing with.
SARS Debt Soars to New Heights
At the same time, MaMkhize’s debt to SARS has skyrocketed.
After a court ruling in 2022, the debt rose sharply from R12.7 million to R37 million almost overnight.
Fast-forward to 2025, and that figure has now passed R40 million. This huge amount seems to be part of the ongoing fallout from a series of legal entanglements.
A Raid at the Mansion
Things took another turn in 2023 when the High Court directed the sheriff to seize and remove movable property from Royal AM, further complicating MaMkhize’s financial standing.
This led to a raid at her luxurious R20 million mansion in Durban.
The tax authorities made it clear that these actions were part of a larger effort to combat tax evasion and other criminal activities that harm the economy.
MaMkhize’s Latest Setback
As if things couldn’t get worse, reports surfaced this week that MaMkhize missed her second deadline to submit key tax documents to SARS.
Rumors suggest that the tax agency requested certain documents from her, but there’s little information on what exactly was needed or whether it’s tied to her massive R40 million debt.
The Future of Royal AM and Nurkovic’s Payment
As this saga continues, many are left wondering if Royal AM will ever pay up what they owe Nurkovic.
The club’s financial troubles have only intensified, leaving fans and followers wondering what comes next.
