Snowboarding legend Shaun White stuns crowd by performing daredevil tricks in Central Park during winter storm

New York City turned into a snow lover’s paradise on Sunday as over 11 inches of fresh powder blanketed the streets and parks.

Among the crowds who couldn’t resist a day of winter fun was none other than snowboarding legend Shaun White.

The three-time Olympic gold medalist swapped competition slopes for the urban playground of Central Park, bringing his snowboard along to make the most of the storm.

A Celebrity Snow Day Duo

White wasn’t alone in enjoying the city’s snow spectacle.

He was joined by comedian Shane Gillis, fresh off a performance at Madison Square Garden, and Gillis’ “Tires” co-star Chris O’Connor.

The trio found themselves at the Cedar Hill section of Central Park, near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, ready to turn a simple snow day into a viral moment.

Shaun White’s Daredevil Trick

The highlight came when White decided to show off some of his signature aerial skills.

With Gillis and O’Connor sitting just in front of a freshly built jump, White soared over their heads, landing perfectly on the other side.

An Instagram clip captured the stunt, with the caption, “Only in NYC,” summing up the playful, larger-than-life moment.

Cheers and Snow Flips

Spectators crowded around to witness White’s moves, and the snow day fun didn’t stop there.

The snowboarder went on to pull off a front flip, drawing cheers and applause from the excited crowd.

It was a rare, carefree display from an athlete usually seen in high-stakes competitions.

Life After the Olympics

Though he’s retired from professional snowboarding since 2022 and won’t be competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics, White still knows how to captivate an audience.

His final professional outing came in Beijing, where he placed fourth, closing the competitive chapter of his career.

Now, it seems, he’s trading podiums for powder-filled playgrounds—and fans couldn’t be happier to watch.
