The mother of Charlton Howard, the real name of Australian teen rap sensation The Kid Laroi, has been arrested on fraud charges.

Sloane Howard, 51, turned herself in to a police station in central Sydney after returning from Los Angeles last month, where she was arrested and charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by fraud.

Ms Howard’s alleged fraudulent credit card transactions were first investigated by inner west police four years ago, in 2018.

The Kid Laroi paid tribute to mom as “the strongest woman I know” on Mother’s Day in 2020.

‘I’ve seen you actually put your life on the line to ensure that I always had the best, even when things were bad.’
