Sixteen people injured when the taxi they travelled in veered off the Houtkop and Waterdal intersection in Sonlandpark, Vereeniging

In Sonlandpark, Vereeniging, this morning, sixteen people were injured when the taxi they were riding in veered off the Houtkop and Waterdal crossroads.

At 07:50, ER24 and other emergency personnel discovered the taxi standing erect in the veld. While some individuals were seated by the roadside, others were observed roaming about the taxi.

Two individuals had serious to critical injuries, while fourteen adults had mild to moderate injuries, according to the medical evaluation of the patients.

Medical professionals treated the victims and gave advanced life support to the two badly injured. The patients were taken to nearby hospitals for additional care after their treatment.

Authorities from the area were on the scene to conduct additional investigations.
