Shia LaBeouf’s Edinburgh street altercation captured on video as actor continues to face controversies in personal and professional life

A surprising video has surfaced featuring actor Shia LaBeouf in a heated altercation outside a pub in Edinburgh.

The 38-year-old Hollywood star was captured on camera shouting provocatively near the OX184 bar last weekend.

His aggressive stance, shouting “let’s go, I’m right here, m**********r,” escalated as he removed his cap and raised his fists.

Two men quickly intervened to restrain him, preventing the situation from spiraling further.

LaBeouf, dressed casually in a black padded jacket and jeans, paced up and down the street, confronting an unknown individual.

The actor has been in Scotland while his wife, Mia Goth, films the upcoming “Frankenstein” movie.

The couple has been spotted in both Edinburgh and Glasgow recently, adding to their presence in the area.

A Night Out and a Day Later

According to reports from The Sun, LaBeouf had visited Whistlebinkies pub the night before the incident.

A bar worker described him as nothing but kind during his visit, adding that everyone in the pub found him to be “lovely.”

The video of the altercation, however, was recorded the following day.

Reflecting on the event, the bar worker mentioned that such disturbances are not uncommon in the Cowgate area, hinting that LaBeouf’s involvement was just another day in the neighborhood.

MailOnline has reached out to LaBeouf’s representatives for further comment on the incident.

However, this episode in Edinburgh adds to the actor’s long list of controversies, which have plagued his career for years.

A History of Troubled Behavior

LaBeouf’s public struggles with aggression and legal issues date back over a decade.

In 2011, he was caught on camera being punched by a shirtless man outside a Vancouver pub.

A few years later, in 2014, he was arrested for disrupting a Broadway performance of “Cabaret” in New York.

His erratic behavior continued in 2017, with multiple arrests, including a drunken altercation in New York City and an incident in Savannah, Georgia, where he became aggressive towards a police officer.

In 2020, LaBeouf faced even more serious allegations.

He was charged with battery and theft after a verbal altercation in Los Angeles.

That same year, his former girlfriend, musician FKA Twigs (real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett), filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress.

The lawsuit included allegations of violent attacks, knowingly infecting her with an STD, and relentless abuse.

Reflections and Redemption?

LaBeouf addressed some of these accusations during a 2022 appearance on Jon Bernthal’s “Real Ones” podcast.

Although he didn’t name FKA Twigs directly, he acknowledged that he had hurt her and many others in his life.

He reflected on his past behavior, admitting to being “pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered,” and expressed a desire to find purpose and be useful in the future.

Despite the turmoil, LaBeouf’s relationship with Mia Goth has also had its ups and downs.

The couple first met in 2012, married in 2016, and separated in 2018.

However, they reconciled in 2020 and welcomed their first child together in 2022.

Their relationship has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but they seem to be navigating it together.

A Controversial Comeback

Looking ahead, LaBeouf is set to star in Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming film “Megalopolis,” which is scheduled for release on September 27.

The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, has garnered attention not only for its star-studded cast but also for Coppola’s decision to include “canceled” actors like LaBeouf, Jon Voight, and Dustin Hoffman.

Coppola, 85, explained that he wanted to create a diverse and controversial ensemble, bringing together actors from different political backgrounds who have faced public scrutiny.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Coppola shared that his goal was to spark a conversation about the divisions in America and challenge the notion of a “woke Hollywood production.”

“Megalopolis” is set in a futuristic version of Rome, with a plot centered around the conflict between a utopian vision and a corrupt government.

The film also features performances by Giancarlo Esposito, Grace VanderWaal, and Chloe Fineman, among others.

As the release date approaches, anticipation builds for both the film and LaBeouf’s return to the big screen, despite the controversies that continue to surround him.
