Shakira and Pique ‘parting ways… For the well-being of our children’

After speculation that all was not well in the relationship between Colombian singer Shakira and her footballer partner, Gerard Pique, the cat is now out of the bag.

“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways,” Shakira’s communication agency said in a statement. We ask that you respect the privacy of our children, as their safety is our first responsibility. Thank you for your patience.”

All of this comes after other reports claimed that the Barcelona football club defender was found in bed with a different woman.

Shakira and Pique were also said to have been living separately for a few weeks after Pique was ejected from their family home.

To clarify, Shakira and Gerard Pique have been together since 2010, and they have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.
