The Senator representing Adamawa Central in the National Assembly, Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) has distributed 1,156 mattresses and 2,000 blankets to five certified Internally Displaced Persons IDPs domiciled in Adamawa Central senatorial zone.
The IDPs resides both in formal and informal camps include Fufore, Malkohi, and Damare formal camps as well as Malkohi and Ngurore informal camps.
Flagging off the distribution exercise Monday, Senator Binani said the gesture is to assist the beneficiaries accustom themselves with the cold weather that has already set in.
“We feel extending this gesture and empathy to our fellow citizens at this time is very important, given the fact, the cold harmattan season has already set in.
“I pray you will find our little gesture of this assistance handy and coming at the right time. I pray that God Almighty will see us through to overcome these challenges very soon.
“We hope Government will hasten the process of relocating all people with their families the soonest, in order for them to feel the warmth of family home again.
Binani reminded the people on the need to be security conscious at all times and assist security agencies with useful information that would curb security challenges in the country.
“I call on all of us to remain vigilant and security conscious in order to assist our security agencies in their attempt to bring to an end our security challenges not only in Adamawa and the North-East but throughout the country,” she said.
Representatives of the beneficiaries who showered encomiums on the Senator Binani for her purposeful leadership wished her success in her political endeavour, and pledged to judiciously used the items.
Majority of the IDPs are not from the Adamawa Central Senatorial zone.
