Sean Stewart opens up about personal struggles while receiving treatment at a California rehab for trauma and mental health

Sean Stewart is taking a step toward self-improvement, and he’s not afraid to talk about it.

The 44-year-old reality TV star has checked into the Cliffside Malibu rehabilitation facility in California, seeking help for personal struggles he has battled for years.

Rather than hiding his journey, Sean is embracing it, hoping to inspire others who might be dealing with similar challenges.

Facing a Lifetime of Struggles

For Sean, life has not always been easy.

Despite growing up in the limelight as the son of rock legend Rod Stewart and model Alana Stewart, he has faced personal battles that have followed him since childhood.

ADHD, dyslexia, and feelings of inadequacy have been a constant struggle.

“I’ve been dealing with ADHD since I was a kid.

I struggled in school because of my learning disability, and people used to call me ‘Stupid Stewart,’” he shared.

Those words left a lasting impact, making him feel like he was never enough.

Confronting the Past

This isn’t the first time Sean has been open about his personal struggles.

He previously appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, where he admitted to past substance use and being part of Alcoholics Anonymous.

But now, his focus is different.

“I’m here to deal with the pain from my childhood—pain that stems from ADHD and this deep fear that I can’t succeed in life,” he said.

He’s determined to address these issues head-on, working through years of unresolved trauma in therapy.

Understanding ADHD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects millions of people worldwide.

It can manifest through difficulty focusing, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, making everyday tasks more challenging.

Sean wants to break the stigma around mental health struggles, emphasizing that conditions like ADHD and dyslexia do not define a person’s potential.

“Just because I’ve struggled doesn’t mean I can’t have a successful life. I’m learning to cope with it now,” he said.

Finding Strength in Honesty

Sean is inspired by public figures who have been open about their struggles, such as Elon Musk, who revealed he has Asperger’s syndrome.

“I appreciate people who are honest about what they deal with, and I want to do the same,” he explained.

His rehab facility offers a serene environment with ocean views and various therapeutic activities, including equine therapy, acupuncture, and group counseling.

For Sean, this is a crucial time to step away from his businesses and focus on becoming a better version of himself.

Looking Toward the Future

As he continues his journey, Sean is thinking about the future—not just for himself, but for the family he hopes to build one day.

“I want to grow into the person I know I can be. I want to be a great dad,” he said.

His goal is to gain self-confidence, heal from the past, and encourage others to seek help when they need it.

“If sharing my story helps even one person, then I’m happy.”

Life Beyond Rehab

Sean has been in a relationship with Julia Stambler, a successful esthetician and owner of SkinSane salons.

The couple recently joined the Stewart family for a luxurious getaway on a $150 million superyacht in celebration of Rod Stewart’s 80th birthday.

With Rod’s eight children and growing number of grandchildren, family remains a central part of Sean’s life.

As he works on himself, he hopes to build a fulfilling future, both personally and professionally.

For now, his focus remains on healing.

His message to others is clear—there’s no shame in seeking help, and the journey to self-improvement is always worth it.
