During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of unifying their stances on various priority topics in regional and international parliamentary events, and exchanging expertise and parliamentary practices.
The meeting was also attended by FNC members Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi and Sarah Falkinaz, along with Afraa Al Busti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication.
At the start of the meeting, Ghobash welcomed the visit of García and his delegation, highlighting the historic ties between the two countries, the importance of organising bilateral visits, and activating a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the FNC and the Spanish Senate.
He also affirmed the importance of advancing their overall economic cooperation, most notably in the areas of technology, space, defence, smart transport, healthcare, life sciences, agricultural technology, water and clean energy.
Ghobash then referred to the Human Fraternity Document, which was signed in the UAE in 2019 by His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.
García said the UAE is among Spain’s strategic partners, commending the mutual visits by their leaders.
