SANWO-OLU PLEDGES CONTINUOUS SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS ENTERPRISES

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has assured Lagosians of continuous support for the growth of business enterprises in the State through the implementation of business-friendly policies and initiatives as well as a conducive environment that provides opportunities for new ideas to strive.

The Governor disclosed this today during the surplus sharing event of Jaiz Takaful Insurance PLC held at Lagos Airport Hotel Limited.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Temitope Sewanu Hundogan, said the participation of a large number of people in the surplus sharing, especially from the Lagos market, is a clear indication of the willingness of Lagosians and Nigerians to key into the new system which is guided by the sharia law.

He added that the key benefit of the new initiative is the promotion of financial inclusion for everyone, adding that it is also a major national goal to strengthen the financial space for prosperity and sustainable economic development. While maintaining that the event will motivate the people to improve on their participation in the scheme, Mr. Governor called for more public enlightenment towards making the citizens understand and appreciate the many benefits inherent in the new insurance system.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, however, implored other business organisations to reciprocate the people’s trust in them by fulfilling their obligations to the State and its citizens.
