Ruth Langsford’s Financial Moves After Her Divorce
Ruth Langsford’s financial situation has recently come into focus, following her unexpected breakup from Eamonn Holmes last year.
The Loose Women star, aged 64, ended her 14-year marriage to the GB News presenter in May 2024, after being together for 27 years.
Since the separation, Ruth’s financial decisions have raised eyebrows, with reports revealing that she withdrew nearly £1 million from her company, Hey Ho Ltd.
Ruth’s Major Financial Withdrawal
Ruth’s company, established in 2013 with her as the sole director, handles earnings from her various TV projects, such as Loose Women, as well as brand deals and advertising partnerships. In the year leading up to May 2024, she took a substantial dividend of £770,000 from the business and also splashed out £12,000 on new furniture.
In 2023, she reportedly withdrew an additional £2.3 million, a move that highlighted her commitment to focusing on her TV career.
Ruth Opens Up About Her Divorce
Ruth recently gave an honest interview, sharing her feelings about her “difficult” divorce from Eamonn.
She was quick to embrace a positive outlook on what comes next, despite the emotional challenges.
In her chat with woman&home, Ruth spoke about moving forward after the end of her marriage and how she’s looking forward to the possibilities of meeting someone new.
When asked about her emotions now, she expressed, “I’m alright.
Relationship breakdowns are tough – whether it’s a marriage or a friendship – but you deal with it, and you move on. You can either let it break you or get back up and keep going. It’s a choice.”
Adjusting to Life After Marriage
Ruth also reflected on her personal life post-divorce, admitting that while she’s not thrilled about her marriage ending, she’s coming to terms with being single.
“I’m trying to embrace the fact that I’m on my own now, and I can make decisions that are just about me,” she said.
This sense of independence has brought a sense of freedom but also comes with its own challenges, as Ruth shared how the idea of weekends spent solo feels different when it becomes a routine.
Navigating a Public Divorce
The former This Morning host also addressed the difficulty of going through such a public divorce.
“Divorce is painful for anyone, but doing it in the public eye adds a whole new level. Everyone has an opinion, and there’s always something written or said about you,” Ruth shared.
Despite the pressure, she acknowledged that being in the public eye is part of the job, and if you can’t handle it, you might want to reconsider being in the spotlight.
Focusing on Work as a Distraction
Ruth admitted that her busy work schedule has been a helpful distraction from the heartache.
“For many people, work is something that you have to do every day, and for me, it’s always been a good way to keep my mind off things,” she explained.
The focus on work has allowed her to channel her energy into something positive as she moves through the painful process of the divorce.
Communication Through Lawyers
Although Ruth and Eamonn have publicly made peace in some small ways, like liking each other’s Instagram posts, reports suggest they are still only communicating through their lawyers.
Their relationship appears far from fully healed, but the exchange of likes was seen as an olive branch following a tough year.
Eamonn has shown support for Ruth during a difficult time, particularly after she visited her ill mother in the hospital.
While their connection may have softened in small gestures, it seems their relationship is far from being fully restored.
Divorce Settlement and Moving On
As their divorce proceeds, it’s expected that Ruth will keep their £3.5 million Surrey home, a place she feels settled in.
Eamonn, on the other hand, is eager to move on and start fresh.
Sources suggest that both are eager to resolve their divorce as quickly as possible, without dragging out the process.
Meanwhile, Eamonn’s relationship with his new partner, Katie Alexander, continues to evolve, with rumors suggesting that the couple might be engaged.
Eamonn has spoken openly about his plans to marry Katie, and the two seem to be in a strong, happy place, living together and enjoying life.
