The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has expressed immense pride in Williams’ exceptional performance.

Williams’ outstanding contributions included three clean sheets against Namibia, Tunisia, and Morocco.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper from Gqeberha showcased his prowess with a match-winning save against Cape Verde, ultimately saving four out of five penalties in the subsequent shootout.
His remarkable efforts continued with two additional clean sheets against Nigeria in the semi-finals and DR Congo in the bronze medal game, where he once again played a pivotal role in securing victory through penalty saves.

Caf acknowledged Williams’ exceptional performance, declaring him the recipient of the Ecobank Best Goalkeeper award.

In a surprising turn of events, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, who faced both supporters and critics before Afcon 2023, is confirmed to stay in his position beyond 2024.
Reports reveal that South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan has decided to extend Broos’ contract until 2026.

Broos, in a media interaction before the semi-finals loss to Nigeria, acknowledged contemplating his future but expressed his enjoyment of the job.
