Rome Prepares to Host Global Altar Server Pilgrimage Amidst Spiritual Unity

The vibrant city of Rome is gearing up to host a significant event this summer—an international pilgrimage organized by the association of altar servers, known as “Coetus Internationalis Ministrantium” (CIM).

From July 29 to August 3, the ancient streets and iconic landmarks of Rome will be bustling with the energy of altar servers from around the world.

The 13th pilgrimage, themed “With You,” draws its inspiration from the Book of Isaiah, as highlighted in a recent press release by the German Bishops’ Conference on July 2.

This theme underscores the spirit of companionship and solidarity among participants as they gather in Rome.

The pilgrimage will unite nearly 50,000 altar servers hailing from a multitude of nations.

Representing countries such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, France, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Hungary, these participants will bring diverse cultures and traditions to this international gathering.

Distinguished Presence

Leading the event will be Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, the president of CIM and Archbishop of Luxembourg, who will provide spiritual guidance and leadership throughout the pilgrimage.

His presence highlights the significance of this event within the Catholic community and underscores its importance in fostering unity and faith among altar servers worldwide.

This pilgrimage promises not only spiritual enrichment but also a vibrant celebration of unity amidst diversity, set against the backdrop of Rome’s timeless beauty and historical significance.
