Teddi Mellencamp, the 43-year-old former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, made her first public appearance since undergoing emergency brain surgery last month. The outing in Los Angeles on Tuesday marked an emotional milestone for Teddi, who had been grappling with significant health challenges. The trio were seen leaving a frozen yogurt shop, with Teddi keeping a low profile in a white cardigan with green stripes paired with matching green pants. To protect her privacy, she wore a baseball cap and oversized sunglasses that shielded her face from the public eye. Health Struggles and Tumor Diagnosis Teddi’s health battle has been public since February, when doctors discovered multiple tumors on her brain following weeks of severe headaches. She has openly shared the details of her health journey, including an emotional video from her car announcing her hospital release after 16 days of recovery. In that video, Teddi expressed immense gratitude for the support she’s received, captioning the clip: “16 days and I get to go home. Thank you to all my loves and life savers for getting me to this.” Heartbreaking Health Update and Tumor Removal Just days before her lunch outing, Teddi shared a raw and emotional update on her health, revealing that doctors found more tumors on her brain. In an Instagram post, she showed a selfie from her hospital bed, with a shaved head, and shared details of her surgery. “I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses who made my surgery a success,” she wrote, adding that more tumors were removed than initially expected. “Four in total. This fight is not over, but that round has been won,” she added with unwavering strength. A Long Health Journey for Teddi Mellencamp This brain surgery comes just three years after Teddi was diagnosed with stage II melanoma, a dangerous form of skin cancer, which has led to multiple surgeries over the years. Her brain tumors are believed to have grown over the past six months and may be linked to her history with melanoma. Teddi has gone through 16 procedures to remove melanomas, and now faces the next phase of her treatment, which will involve radiation to treat smaller tumors that remain. Support from Family Amidst Health Challenges Teddi’s family and friends have been a vital source of support throughout her health ordeal. Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has been deeply involved in her recovery process, taking their children Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4, to visit her in the hospital. Following the surgery, he shared how painful it was to see Teddi in such distress, writing on social media that he’d never seen her in so much pain, but that she was grateful for the love and support pouring in from fans. Teddi’s Recovery and Family Focus Despite the ongoing health battle, sources close to Teddi shared that her divorce from Edwin is currently “off the table.” The couple, who share three children together, is now focusing on Teddi’s recovery.
