Following the White House’s statement that the 79-year-old president had contracted COVID-19, Republicans, including Sens. Ted Cruz, Chuck Grassley, and Kellyanne Conway, expressed congratulations to President Joe Biden.
Cruz tweeted about his wife, Heidi, saying, “Heidi & I are pulling up President Joe Biden in prayer right now.” “May COVID pass soon, may he have a speedy and complete recovery, and may God’s healing touch be upon him.”
According to 1st Timothy 2:1-2, Grassley wished President Biden a speedy recovery from cancer and prayed for his well-being and ability to serve as president.

Former President Donald Trump’s counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway sent out a quick tweet offering ‘thoughts and prayers’ to Biden.
‘Wishing Joe Biden a full and fast recovery,’ Conway also offered.
The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna Romney McDaniel, sent out a similar message.
‘Praying for President Biden and his health. Wishing him a quick and full recovery,’ McDaniel tweeted.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he was ‘sorry to hear that Presiden Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.’
‘Wishing him a speedy recovery,’ McConnell added.
South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham – a top Trump ally in the Senate who served alongside Biden in the upper chamber for years – wrote: ‘Wishing President Biden a speedy recovery from COVID.’
Republican Rep. Jody Hice used Biden’s COVID diagnosis as proof that mitigation measures do not work.
‘I wish the best for the President’s recovery,’ Hice, who represents Georgia, tweeted. ‘But can we finally dispense with the notion that vaccines, masks, and fist bumps stop the spread?’

Prior to the White House’s announcement that he tested positive for coronavirus on both an antigen and the more accurate PCR test on Thursday morning, Biden, unlike most of Washington, had been able to dodge a coronavirus diagnosis.
He just got back from his first trip as president to the Middle East, where he was meant to minimize handshakes and fist bumps with leaders as COVID cases had started to rise again owing to changing variations.
Biden visited Massachusetts on Monday and spoke with people who weren’t wearing masks.
The information was released just prior to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s scheduled weekly press conference.
‘I understand that the symptoms are light,’ she told reporters. ‘I hope they continue to be so,’ she added, noting that was her personal experience. ‘I hope that’s the case of the president.’
Biden’s doctor said the president was experiencing a runny nose, fatigue and an occasional dry cough, which started Wednsday evening.
He’s being treated with Paxlovid.
‘Folks, I’m doing great. Thanks for your concern,’ Biden tweeted about two hours after the White House announced his positive status. ‘Just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright, and Mayor Cognetti (and my Scranton cousins!) to send my regrets for missing our event today.’
‘Keeping busy!’ he wrote.
