Reports claim a federal grand jury is investigating Trump’s PAC

As investigations against the former president deepen, a federal grand jury is apparently looking for evidence regarding Donald Trump’s Save America leadership PAC.

ABC News was the first to disclose on Thursday that recipients of subpoenas issued in recent weeks were questioned about the creation of the political action committee, its fundraising efforts, and its expenditures.

The Justice Department refused to comment. Requests for a spokesman from Trump went unanswered.

There are now a number of federal and state investigations against Trump, many of which are looking into his involvement in the assault on the United States on January 6, 2021. Thousands of government data, including many with highly sensitive markings, wound up at his exclusive Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. His attempts to get the 2020 election results overturned.

Trump actively campaigned for the 2020 election, using his supporters’ resentment over his inability to accept his defeat. The House committee looking into the attack on January 6 was informed during its hearings that Trump’s fundraising operation had amassed around $250 million from his “Stop the Steal” and other post-election initiatives, largely in the form of modest contributions from Americans. Thirty minutes before to the uprising on January 6, one appeal for money was sent out.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a Democrat from California, referred to the initiatives as “the major swindle in addition to the big deception.”

Trump’s allegations that there was widespread fraud in the election have not been backed up by any reliable proof. Such assertions have also been refuted by a number of state and local election authorities, including Trump’s own attorney general and judges he chose.

Since its founding, Trump’s PAC has collected millions of dollars, which he has used to fund his post-presidential rallies, other trips, legal fees, and even the portraits of him and the former first lady that will one day display in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. According to official documents, it had just under $100 million in cash on hand at the end of July.
