Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly parted ways with one of their veteran defenders in order to free up their foreign quota for the campaign.
According to Daily Sun, Ricardo Nascimento has been let go by the Sundowns who needed a spot to register Bolivian midfielder Erwin Saavedra.
Sundowns had already exhausted their foreign quota of five before the arrival of Saavreda, and they needed to free that up by sacrificing at least one foreign international.
Brian Onyango (Kenya), Gaston Sirino (Uruguay), Pavol Safranko (Slovakia), and Peter Shalulile (Namibia) are currently occupying the four spots with Saavedra now the fifth foreign international.
HAS NASCIMENTO LEFT MAMELODI SUNDOWNS FOR GOOD THIS TIME?
Nascimento, 34, left Sundowns for Brazil at the end of last season, and there were reports that he wouldn’t come back.
However, Nascimento returned after months of speculation around his future, much to the delight of Sundowns fans.
Now, the latest developments would definitely disappoint a number of Sundowns fans who had hoped to see Nascimento continue wearing the club colours.
Sundowns are yet to confirm if Nascimento has indeed left the club for good this time but it may not be long before they do.
