Remo Stars kick-off league campaign with away win

The Nigerian Football Professional League (NPFL) 2021/22 season kicked-off with Remo Stars of Ikenne recording an away win against MFM of Lagos Friday.

The match was played at the refurbished Mobolaji Johnson, Remo Stars tore apart their hosts with crisp passing and fast-paced wing play.

The coach Olugbenga Ogunbote-tutored team made their possession pay as they took the lead through Akanni Qudus on 50 minutes.

He took a back-heeled pass and curled the ball past a stranded the MFM goalie.

With the match coming to an end, the away side confirmed the result when Andy Okpe tapped-in a solid pass.

The win sets the stage for an intriguing league with matches to be played Saturday and Sunday.
