RB star Malachi tackles love in his ‘Don’t Judge Me’ video [watch]

Johannesburg-based musician Malachi one of a few male R&B singer-songwriters in Mzansi and considers himself a versatile artist.The young R&B star released his music video for his smooth single Don’t Judge Me with an appearance from Gomora actor, Ntobeko Sishi aka Sishii.


Malachi’s debut EP, Wicked Romance is described as a “textbook trap R&B record”. Speaking to Red Bull about the EP released in 2020, Malachi said hip-hop and R&B sounds resonate with him the most.

“I listened to a lot of R&B and hip-hop and I make music that I am inspired by. You can definitely hear that in this project,” he added.

Wicked Romances was produced by Elizeé who worked on Elaine’s award-winning EP, Elements. Other producers on the album include Elohim, Jordan Klem, Qiin, Lionel Strings and Scott Aevin who all brought a different element to the project.

“I wanted to make a record everyone can relate to and that it speaks to whatever people are going through relationship-wise. Even if I haven’t been through it, I wanted to speak on it.”


Malachi’s Don’t Judge Me music video was directed and produced by Elizeé. The stunning visuals feature Gomora actor Ntobeko Shishi.
Don’t Judge Me sees Malachi winning over a beautiful woman but things take a horrible turn after she orders a hitman to come after him.
The track is the opening track from Malachi’s Wicked Romance follow-up released in 2021.



Taking to Twitter to announce the release date for Don’t Judge Me, Malachi shared that the video was one of the many projects he and his team are working on this year.

“This music video is the first of many exciting projects my team and I have worked tirelessly to put together for the year ahead,” wrote the R&B star.
