“While they all adjust to Jamie’s untimely departure, our radio stations will continue to air the music he loved in his honor every day. In the near future, they will pay tribute in the appropriate manner.

“At this difficult time, our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones.”

Crick began working with Jazz FM of Bauer Media UK in 2014 as a guest host before taking over the morning show and switching to the afternoon time slot in 2016.
He was Gaydar Radio’s creative director and had worked on Global’s Classic FM starting in 1994 for around 20 years.

Simon Bates, a fellow radio host, posted on X, now known as Twitter, “So very sad to see that Jamie Crick has passed away. Jamie was a source of encouragement, friendliness, and good humor when I first started at Classic FM.

Mark Carter, the deputy managing editor for BBC South and BBC South East, who saw Crick join the organization’s regional teams, wrote: “Hugely grieved to hear of Jamie Crick’s demise. I listened to Jamie on County Sound before he became well-known nationally and thought, “That’s the kind of presenter I’d like to be.”

I was delighted to welcome him into the @BBCSussex @BBCSurrey family many years later.
Crick also aired a program about the genre of theatre on Bauer’s Scala Radio and co-founded Encore Radio, which featured the music of musicals, in 2018.
Jazz FM’s content director, Nick Pitts, said: “I feel really fortunate. I got to become friends with some incredible coworkers. I had a lot of time for @Jamie_Crick, who was one of those extremely rare guys.

Someone who loved to be on the air, cared about other people, and has since left our world.
