In memory of the late Rob Burrow, a renowned Rugby League player and advocate for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Prince Charles participated in the Out-Sourcing Inc Royal Charity Polo Cup.
The event aims to raise an impressive £1 million for various charitable endeavors close to both him and the Princess of Wales.
This marks Prince Charles’ 13th appearance in the annual polo match, contributing to a cumulative fundraising total of £13 million.
The charities benefiting from today’s event range from emergency services and mental health support to conservation efforts and aid for the armed forces, reflecting the couple’s diverse philanthropic interests.
Notably, this year’s event introduced the MND Association, a cause deeply associated with Rob Burrow and supported by The Princess Royal as its patron.
Prince Charles had honored Burrow and his fellow MBE recipient Kevin Sinfield earlier this year for their remarkable fundraising achievements before Burrow’s passing in June.
The Prince’s involvement in charitable causes has been profoundly influenced by personal encounters, including his interactions with figures like Rob Burrow.
