President’s Spokesman Attributes APC Victory to Continued Implementation of Buhari Administration’s Programs

…By Enitan Thompson for TDPel Media. Mallam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, has attributed the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recent Nigerian presidential elections to the continued implementation of the Buhari administration’s programs.

Shehu made this statement during a meeting with the Arewa Young Lawyers’ Forum (AYLF), a group representing young lawyers in Northern Nigeria.

Shehu stated that if Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or Peter Obi from the Labour Party had won the elections, many leaders of the ruling APC would have been forced to retire.

He added that the APC’s victories in the presidential and state elections solidified the party’s dominance in national politics.

Shehu also emphasized the importance of the Tinubu/Shettima victory for ensuring a smooth transfer of power and the continuation of the outgoing administration’s policies.

He urged the AYLF members to play a crucial role in promoting the study and practice of law in the northern states, asserting that both lawyers and journalists are essential for building and securing democracy.

He explained that the APC victory in the election is a watershed moment for the Buhari government, its orientation, its programs, and projects.

Shehu also highlighted an important and overlooked aspect of the Tinubu/Shettima victory, which ensures an orderly transfer of power from the outgoing administration to the incoming one and the safety of policies and programs of the outgoing government.

He expressed his gratitude to the Almighty and the citizens of Nigeria for sticking with their party.

Importance of Supporting Young Lawyers

The Chairman of AYLF, Barr. Olayinka Dauda Jimoh, requested the Presidency’s support in providing strategic training for young lawyers to enhance their leadership roles in society.

Shehu responded by encouraging the AYLF members to play their part in promoting the study and practice of law in the northern states.
