President Donald Trump and Melania Trump welcomed the New Year in signature style, hosting a glittering, MAGA-themed party at their Mar-a-Lago estate on Wednesday night.

The event brought together politicians, business leaders, and celebrities for a night of music, dancing, and celebration.

For attendees, it was a chance to let loose—but not everyone embraced the party spirit equally.

Stephen Miller’s Subtle Dance Moves Steal the Spotlight

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller became the unexpected viral star of the night, though not in the way he probably imagined.

A short clip, shared by his wife Katie on X (formerly Twitter), showed the 40-year-old nodding along to Vanilla Ice’s classic 1990s hit Ice Ice Baby with what many viewers called minimal enthusiasm.

In the same brief clip, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem appeared in full party mode, singing along, waving her arms, and clearly enjoying herself.

The contrast between Miller’s reserved head bobs and Noem’s full-on performance sparked immediate commentary online.

Social Media Roasts and Reactions

Comments on X were swift and playful.

Suggested Readings (News continues below)
  • “He looks like he wants to be back at work already rather than mandatory fun,” one user quipped.

  • “Stephen needs to let loose a little! Kristi is having no trouble!” added another.

  • “Love Stephen’s reaction. He’s trying so hard to party just a little,” read a fourth post.

Some users even poked fun at the irony of Vanilla Ice performing Ice Ice Baby at an administration heavily involved in shaping strict immigration policies, noting Miller and Noem’s roles in controversial decisions.

Noem has even earned the nickname “ICE Barbie” for her well-groomed appearances while working alongside ICE officers.

Vanilla Ice Brings the 90s Vibes

The short performance clip also showed Miller mouthing along to the lyrics with a tentative smile, while Vanilla Ice, led by Rob Van Winkle, delivered his hit for the crowd.

Interestingly, Vanilla Ice had performed at Mar-a-Lago’s New Year’s bash the previous year as well, continuing the tradition of 90s nostalgia.

High-Profile Guests Fill the Ballroom

The Mar-a-Lago crowd included a mix of political and entertainment figures.

Among those spotted were former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, MyPillow CEO and Senate hopeful Mike Lindell, and Hollywood director Brett Ratner, who is currently working on a Melania Trump documentary.

Trump’s children Donald Jr., Eric, and Barron were also present.

The president took a moment on stage to wish Trump Jr. a happy 48th birthday, keeping the family at the center of the celebrations.

A Palm Beach Tradition

Trump’s New Year’s parties at Mar-a-Lago have been a fixture since the late 1990s, after the Palm Beach estate became a private club.

Over the years, the festivities have combined politics, celebrity, and spectacle—this year was no exception.

While the party offered glitz, music, and dancing, the evening also highlighted the personalities of those in the administration—from Miller’s understated moves to Noem’s energetic performance—creating a blend of politics and pop culture that kept social media buzzing.
