Following the National Executive Committee’s decision, Ganduje succeeded Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned in July.
President Bola Tinubu had shown interest in Ganduje taking over from Adamu, and the National Caucus of the APC had also recommended his appointment while preparing Senator Ajibola Basiru as the acting National Secretary.
Ganduje’s Controversial Appointment:
Aisha Yesufu did not hold back in her criticism of Ganduje’s appointment, suggesting that he should be behind bars instead of leading the party.
She questioned the ruling party’s choice, stating that it sends a message of endorsing, nurturing, and rewarding criminal behavior.

Taking to Twitter to share her thoughts, Aisha Yesufu reiterated her disapproval of Ganduje’s leadership position in the APC.
She expressed her concern that a man with potential criminal allegations should not be entrusted with such a crucial role.

The Need for Transparency and Integrity:
Aisha Yesufu’s reaction highlights the importance of transparency and integrity within political parties and their leadership selections.
