Saturday, January 29, 2022 – Police in Kirinyaga County were forced to use excessive force on Saturday after youths allied to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) blocked Deputy President William Ruto’s motorcade.
From the video posted on YouTube, wild youths wearing UDA party yellow reflectors and T-shirts are seen standing by the road forcing the police officers to come and clear them off the road for Ruto’s motorcade to pass
The DP was on his way to Thiba, where he was supposed to address a mega rally together with Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma County congressman, Moses Masika Wetangula.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has prepared a wild reception for the DP, who is popularising his presidential bid using ‘hustler narrative’ and bottom-up economic model.
Ruto, who is yet to name his running mate, has a cult following in the Mt Kenya region.
