Photos: Woman Killed, Boyfriend Injured In Shooting In Cottonlands – KZN

A woman was killed and her boyfriend seriously injured during a shooting incident in Cottonlands – KZN this afternoon (Friday).

At approximately 18:49, a silver Toyota Etios sped into the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) HQ in Verulam – KZN requesting medical assistance for a 23 year old male who had been shot in the abdomen, both hands and his head. The victim explained that he was at his girlfriend’s residence when two unknown suspects forced their way into the house and shot them without warning. They then searched him for valuables before fleeing empty handed.

The man informed RUSA Members that his girlfriend was also shot however could not confirm if she was still alive. Reaction Officers led by the silver Toyota Etios proceeded to the female’s residence in Cottonlands – KZN. On arrival, Officers were led to the single room dwelling.

The 28 year old female was located in a prone position on the bed. She was shot twelve times in the head, neck and back. She showed no signs of life and was declared deceased. Several spent 9mm cartridges were located in the room.

The motive for the shooting could not be confirmed.
