Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Holden Trent made his mark in college soccer at West Virginia University and High Point University.

He had previous stints with the academies of USL clubs Charlotte Independence and South Georgia Tormenta FC before being selected 28th overall by the Union in the 2023 MLS Super Draft.

According to the club’s website, Trent made six appearances for Philadelphia’s MLS Next Pro team, with his last match taking place against New York Red Bulls II on June 26 this year.
