Kogi State’s political scene is heating up as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) makes a bold move to reclaim its influence.
The party’s chairman, Muhammed Gambo, has raised a firm warning against anyone occupying land meant for the PDP’s new State Secretariat.
His statement comes during a site visit to the project location, where he expressed deep concern over the delays and illegal encroachments affecting the construction.
Chairman Voices Frustration Over Project Abandonment
During the visit, Gambo described the sight of trespassers and the stalled project as “disheartening.”
He noted that it is troubling for a party that once dominated Kogi State politics to still face hurdles in completing its headquarters.
The chairman underscored that under his leadership, the Secretariat will not only be finished but also restored to its rightful glory.
Call to State Authorities and Party Leaders
Gambo urged the state government to direct relevant authorities to remove illegal occupants from the property.
He also announced plans to form a technical committee tasked with assessing the situation and recommending actionable steps.
“I am appealing to party leaders—former governors, senators, and House of Representatives members—to step in and help us tackle these challenges,” he said.
“We are notifying the state government about these encroachments, and we will pursue anyone occupying portions of our land to restore our rightful boundaries.”
Resumption of Construction with Accountability
The PDP chairman assured that construction would resume shortly, with a renewed focus on delivering a modern and fitting State Secretariat.
He emphasized that transparency and accountability will be central to the project, signaling a clear break from previous practices.
PDP Eyes a Strong Comeback in Kogi Politics
Gambo concluded with a confident message about the party’s future in the state.
He expressed optimism that the PDP is on track to reclaim its prominence in Kogi politics and that the 2027 elections will reflect the party’s seriousness and determination to lead effectively.
