In a distressing incident, the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended Pastor Clinton John of the Mega World Healing Ministry, located in Giwa Agbado, Ifo Local Government Area.
The arrest is in connection with the alleged sexual defilement of a 16-year-old girl, unfolding a disturbing narrative of abuse and threats.
Unlawful Carnal Knowledge:
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the 43-year-old pastor has been accused of engaging in unlawful carnal knowledge of the teenage girl since 2022 when she was merely 14 years old.
The victim, as reported by Odutola, revealed that Pastor Clinton John consistently threatened her life, warning against disclosing the illicit affair to anyone.
Family’s Concern and Report to Police:
The victim’s family, growing suspicious of recurring infections and observing alarming behavior in their daughter, took the matter to the police.
The family had concerns that the 16-year-old might have been sexually assaulted but was concealing the identity of the perpetrator. Faced with these suspicions, they reported the incident to the Agbado divisional Police Station.
Confession and Admission:
In the subsequent investigation, Pastor Clinton John confessed to the crime during interrogation.
He admitted to repeatedly engaging in unlawful carnal knowledge of the 16-year-old girl.
The victim has been provided with medical forms for necessary treatment and examination.
The pastor is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran for a thorough and discreet investigation.

In a separate incident, a 26-year-old man named Monday Agbowade is alleged to have defiled an 11-year-old girl in Araromi Village.
The police, in November, also reported pursuing two suspected rapists accused of defiling minors in the Isabo area of Abeokuta and Abule-Osho in the Olambe area of Ifo Local Government Area.
