Paddy Pimblett isn’t intimidated by the knockout power that Michael Chandler is known for, as the two prepare to face off at UFC 314.

Since his UFC debut in 2021, the Liverpool native has made a name for himself, securing an undefeated record across his first six bouts in the promotion.

Saturday’s clash with Chandler, a former title contender, offers an exciting chance for Pimblett to prove he belongs among the top fighters in the lightweight division.

Pimblett’s Focus on Resilience

Despite Chandler’s confidence in his knockout ability, Pimblett isn’t worried about getting hit.

“People think I’ll get knocked out because my chin is high, but his chin is made of granite,” he said.

This bold statement came after Pimblett made the 156lbs lightweight limit for their non-title fight.

He added, “I’ve never been knocked out before, and I’m not about to start now. Mike’s been knocked out before, though, and I’ll do it again on Saturday.”

The High Stakes of UFC 314

The upcoming co-main event will be a five-round contest, marking the first time Pimblett will compete for that duration in the UFC.

With Chandler, 37, being a fighter known for his post-fight performance bonuses in five of his six UFC appearances, the stakes are high for both men.

Chandler, acknowledging Pimblett’s achievements, expressed his respect but also his desire to win.

“This is the people’s main event,” he declared. “I’m going to find that chin, and I’m going to find it early.”

A Fight That Has Conor McGregor’s Attention

The anticipation surrounding this fight has caught the eye of Conor McGregor, who recently posted on social media, expressing interest in the matchup.

McGregor had been scheduled to face Chandler at UFC 303 last year, but the fight never happened due to McGregor’s injury during training.

Now, all eyes are on UFC 314, as Pimblett and Chandler gear up for what promises to be an exciting battle.
