Accusation of Assault:
In May, up-and-coming Nollywood actress Temidayo Morkinyo accused her senior colleague, Papa Showw (Shoneye Olamilekan), of physically assaulting her on a movie set.
Taking to her Instagram story, Temidayo claimed that Papa Showw, accompanied by some individuals, arrived on her movie set in Ibadan, Oyo State, and physically attacked her.
Temidayo stated that Papa Showw punched her in the face, causing her lip to be injured, as retaliation for reporting his inappropriate behavior to their bosses.
She recounted how he rudely demanded that she buy him a drink on a previous occasion, which left her feeling humiliated.
Despite complying with his request, she decided to report the incident to Afeez Abiodun Seriki and Niyi Johnson, her bosses, who assured her they would address the situation.
Unexpected Turn of Events:
To her shock, Papa Showw showed up on her movie set with accomplices and physically assaulted her after being reprimanded by their superiors.
Temidayo’s family is now seeking justice for the alleged assault, which has left her in pain.
These incidents on Nollywood movie sets highlight the challenges and conflicts that can arise during film production.
Disagreements over scenes, safety concerns, and acts of misconduct have sparked controversy and prompted calls for justice.
