Old students donate educational materials to alma mater

As a means of giving back to the school that nurtured them, the 1999 set of Anwaru-ul-Islam College  Agege Old Students Association ( ACAOSA) has donated customised education materials and set of wall-clocks to the college.

The presentation of the items which took place on Saturday inside the  school’s Hall was led by the president of the  Association, Taofeeq Badru and other members of the 1999  set of the college .

Speaking  on the project, Taofeeq Badru said it is necessary for the alumni  to give back  to the school  that  made them, having shown similar  gestures  to some of their past  teachers in the college.

” Today, we are given back to our alma mater , the school that made us and we are happy to give the little we are able  to do because  the school  has done so much in our life,”he  said.

According to the him, in 2019, the set honoured some of  their  past teachers  and deemed it necessary to extend  similar gestures  to the school  with the donation of wall- clocks and branded education materials to the students.

 Privilege
Receiving  the items on behalf of  the Principal, the Vice princpal, Mr Adisa Ademola expressed his appreciation  for the kind gesture towards  the  school   by the 1999 alumni,  noting that the  wall clocks  and educational materials project  is a privilege as many  schools didn’t have  such an opportunity.

“On behalf of the board  of the governor , the  Principal, the staff members  and students of the college, i want to sincerely  appreciate  the gesture extended to us by 1999 of ACAOSA .

I thank them for the wall clocks and the exercise books.

They are highly appreciated  and the items shall be delivered  to the  Principal, “ he said.

Established in 1948, under the auspices of Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam in Nigeria, Anwaru-ul-Islam college, Agege is one of the oldest colleges in Nigeria,  that has produced eminent Nigerians including Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro, Otunba Femi Pedro, Former Deputy Governor in Lagos State as well as other notable personalities.
