In a bid to mitigate the problem of insecurity in the state, the Ogun State government is set to re-introduce OP MESSA to complement the efforts of law enforcement agencies in the state
Governor Abiodun made the remark on Thursday at the inaugural meeting with the chairmen of twenty local governments held at the conference hall, oke mosan Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun explained that the action is necessary to fortify the state’s security architecture towards the protection of life and property.
The Governor while charging the chairmen to run an inclusive governance advised them to ensure that they have a good working relationship with traditional rulers in their various local governments, stating that every individual is important to the implementation of effective security system as the protection of people is paramount to the current administration.
According to the Governor the Chairmen must do everything possible to stamp out any breach of security in their localities be it kidnappings, cultism, robbery or any other form of criminality.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Afolabi Afuape in a remark commended Governor Abiodun for creating the enabling environment for local government chairmen to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people especially at the grassroots.
The Commissioner also assured that the third tier of government will continue to align with the vision of Governor Dapo biodun- led administration.
