Women empowerment is important for the sustainable development of the country.
It is therefore necessary to support initiatives and programmes aimed at giving the Nigerian women a voice through various empowerment skills.
The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele stated this while playing host to the representatives of the International Federation of Training and Development Organisation-Committee for Women Empowerment (IFTDO-CWE) this Thursday.
According to the Deputy Governor, the current administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun is implementing programmes and policies for the empowerment and development of women and youth across the gateway state.
Engineer Salako-Oyedele who lauded the Committee for Women Empowerment over its agenda at improving the lots of women,especially through agriculture, however called on the committee to also empower women in other relevant skills capable of enhancing their self-development.
In a remark,the IFTDO-CWE chairman, Mrs. Janet Jolaoso explained that the committee for women empowerment was established to support women in Africa and Asia through empowerment programmes for women in agriculture, upskilling women in corporate suite positions as well as finishing school for young female adults.
She decorated the Deputy Governor as an exemplary member of the committee.
