Obiano Inaugurates School Hostel At Govt Technical College Enugwu – Agidi, Njikoka Council Area

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has canvassed for more attention to technical education in the Country.

 

The Governor made the call when he paid a one-day work visit to Enugwu-Agidi where he commissioned a smart seven hundred and fifty bed capacity Hostel at Government Technical College, Enugwu-Agidi.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that it is the fourth to be commissioned by the Governor, out of the total number of twelve built by his administration.

 

The project has solar powered electricity, toilets and bathrooms, ten thousand liters water facility, four living areas, among others.

Commissioning the project, Governor Obiano who stressed the importance of skills in today’s world of technological advancements, explained that his administration concentrated on technical education inline with global trends as the students become employers of labour immediately after graduation.

 

The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha who recalled the Governor’s education mantra when he assumed office, thanked the governor for rekindling the entrepreneurship spirit within Anambra students, calling on Ndi Enugwu-Agidi to ensure ownership and sustenance of the legacy project.

Professor Omenugha noted that the Obiano-led administration has given confidence to Anambra State students and teachers, such that they now have global competitiveness.

 

Speaking to the ABS, Chief Whip and the member representing Njikoka Constituency Two at the State House of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida said that by erecting those projects, Governor Obiano has demonstrated capacity to lead.

Also speaking, the Transition Committee Chairman for Njikoka, Mr. George Obiozor and the Managing Director Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa described the project as visionary.

 

In attendance were the Member representing Anaocha Constituency Two at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs, Lady Vera Okonkwo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Creative Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi retired, students, teachers, among others.
