NYC woman narrates scary story of her date who carted away with her $1K Maison Margiela Tabi shoes after a night of romance.

A New York City woman, known as @nextlevellexuss on TikTok, has shared a disturbing story about a Tinder date who allegedly stole her Maison Margiela Tabi shoes, worth $990, and gave them to his girlfriend. Lexus, a creative and designer, exposed the incident in a viral TikTok video.

She recounted how her date, named Joshua, stole her coveted Tabi shoes, which were a birthday gift. Their encounter began when they met in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood, and they later connected on Tinder, leading to drinks and an intimate encounter. Lexus discovered her shoes missing after Joshua left her apartment. When she tried to contact him, she realized he had unmatched her on Tinder and deleted all traces of his number.

Lexus confronted Joshua in person and filmed the encounter next to a yellow cab, eventually getting her shoes back. During their exchange, Joshua admitted to stealing the shoes and revealed he had a girlfriend to whom he had given them. He offered money to make amends, but Lexus saw it as an admission of guilt. She thanked her supporters and urged people not to shame her for her actions, emphasizing the misogyny present in the situation.

In response to the incident, the fashion retailer SSENSE chimed in on Twitter, promoting their Tabi shoe selection. Lexus also received support from other social media creators and shared safety advice, including getting to know someone before inviting them into your home and securing valuable items like Tabi shoes.
