DJ’s Visa Fraud Unveiled: Christmas Eve Arrest in Bengaluru

Indian Police made a significant breakthrough on Christmas Eve with the arrest of Moses, a Nigerian resident in Bengaluru, for allegedly swindling N18 million from a woman under the guise of arranging a work visa to Canada. The arrest followed an investigation led by Inspector Shaju Joseph.

Exploiting Personal Details: Scam Unravels

Moses, a DJ residing in Bengaluru since 2014, purportedly exploited personal information provided by the victim on a private website.

The victim innocently shared her details while pursuing a medical coding job in October, which Moses then allegedly used for his fraudulent scheme.

The Deceptive Scheme Unfolds

Posing as a visa agent, Moses initiated contact with the victim through emails and WhatsApp, fabricating proof of her details on an immigration site along with a fake flight ticket to Canada.

Gaining her trust, he convinced her to transfer Rs 17 lakhs, approximately N18 million in Nigerian currency, into his account.

Investigations Reveal Extensive Fraudulent Activities

As the woman grew suspicious due to Moses’ persistent demands for more money, she filed a complaint at the Wayanad Cyber Police Station.

Investigators were able to trace Moses through his device’s IP address, recover Rs 6 lakhs, and make the arrest, uncovering his involvement in several online frauds.

DJ by Name, Fraudster by Deed

Despite being known as a DJ, Moses reportedly conducted only one event monthly, devoting the rest of his time to fraudulent activities.

Law enforcement officials seized multiple electronic devices from him, crucial to his illicit operations.

Ongoing Investigations and Call to Action

The investigation continues, urging potential victims of Moses’ scams to step forward.

Authorities are working to shed light on the extent of his fraudulent activities and bring justice to those affected by his deceptive schemes.
