The Nigeria Police Force has expressed its intention to investigate an officer captured in a viral video opening a car door for singer Spyro.

The footage, circulating on Twitter, depicted the moment a policeman performed the gesture for Spyro during the artist’s visit to his former neighborhood.

Singer’s Visit to Former Area Sparks Backlash

Spyro, known for his hit song “Who’s Your Guy,” had visited the place where he once lived to express gratitude for the blessings in his life.

However, the video elicited strong criticism from netizens who condemned the act of the armed police officer in uniform.

Police Spokesperson Condemns Officer’s Behavior

In response to the video, the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, acknowledged its existence and described the officer’s conduct as “unprofessional and ridiculous.”

Adejobi affirmed that the police force is actively working to identify and locate the officer involved.

Adejobi emphasized that the police force will take immediate action to prevent similar deployments or attachments in the future.

Adejobi also expressed disbelief at the officer’s actions, commenting on the presence of an inspector of police opening the car door for the singer.
