Tinubu, a former Senator and governor of Lagos State, emerged as the winner of the February 2023 presidential election, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He ran as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
With a total of 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu secured victory, defeating his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 6,984,520 votes.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party secured third place with 6,101,533 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came in fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
