New Gang Form In CBD: Verulam – KZN, Targets Shoppers & Motorist

The public is warned to be on high alert. A new gang has formed in the Verulam CBD and are targeting shoppers & motorist. Several Common Robberies & Theft out of Motor Vehicles have been reported in the past few days.

Seen in these pictures are two suspects that were responsible for crimes against businesses & shoppers in the Central Business District for months. Hundreds of cases were reported & three suspects were eventually arrested by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at 10:47 on June 30, 2022.

Both suspects (pictured) were remanded in custody at Westville Prison in Kwazulu Natal for seven (7) days. The kingpin (picture 2/4) was believed to be a suspect sought for a Murder. On their second appearance at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court both men were again remanded to Westville Prison awaiting trail.

They are considered dangerous & have attacked several victims stabbing them repeatedly with Okapi knives. These weapons were recovered by Officers during the arrest. A third suspect (picture cannot be made public) was released.

Since the arrest no stabbings have since been reported in the CBD, however Reaction Officers have received information that a new gang is operating & targeting victims on Todd Street, Wick Street, Moss Street & Ireland Street.
