New American Pope’s Brother Faces Backlash After Posting Offensive Comments About Nancy Pelosi Online from Florida

As the world reacts to the historic appointment of the first-ever American pope, another story is quietly brewing behind the scenes.

While Pope Leo XIV was introduced to global applause last week following his election by the College of Cardinals, it turns out not everyone in his family shares his calm, unifying spirit.

In fact, social media activity linked to the new pope’s older brother is now sparking controversy—especially in the U.S. political sphere.

The Pope’s Brother Targets Nancy Pelosi With Vulgar Posts

Louis Prevost, who lives in Port Charlotte, Florida, and is the older brother of Pope Leo XIV, has recently come under scrutiny after a series of vulgar and politically charged Facebook posts resurfaced.

One of the more shocking posts dates back to April 5, where Prevost reshared a 1996 video of Representative Nancy Pelosi.

The caption he posted with it referred to her in deeply offensive and misogynistic terms, calling her a “drunk c***” and making an unverified jab at her husband involving Grindr.

MAGA Memes and Woke Jabs Fill His Feed

This wasn’t a one-off outburst. Prevost’s social media activity includes a stream of pro-Trump memes and anti-liberal rants.

Back in October 2024, he reposted a meme showing a mental asylum with the words: “Where the woke lived before the ’70s.”

He’s also been known to take spiritual jabs, like resharing a meme that read: “Please pray for the 33 percent who approve of Biden, that they be healed of their mental affliction.”

That post was made earlier in 2024 and is still publicly viewable.

Conspiracy-Laced Rants Add Fuel to the Fire

In a separate post from August 30, 2024, Prevost painted a dire picture of what he sees as chaos on U.S. soil.

He claimed an incident occurred where 20 undocumented immigrants allegedly tried to hijack a bus full of children in Southern California—a claim not supported by any official report.

In the same post, he wrote ominously about gang activity, border control failures, and child trafficking.

He ended with a phrase often used in far-right survivalist rhetoric: “Keep your powder dry!”

The Contrast Between Brothers Couldn’t Be Clearer

What makes all this even more striking is how it clashes with Pope Leo XIV’s own public image.

Unlike his brother, the new pope appears to lean away from hardline politics.

He has even shared critical takes on former President Donald Trump’s administration and posted an opinion piece disapproving of Vice President JD Vance’s interpretation of Christianity.

This ideological gap between the siblings adds an unexpected twist to the pope’s early days in office, especially given the public nature of the internet posts.

The Vatican Stays Quiet—for Now

So far, the Vatican has made no official comment about Louis Prevost’s controversial social media history.

Still, it raises difficult questions about how public figures—especially those in global spiritual leadership—navigate their personal and familial connections in today’s digital age.

As the world continues to get to know Pope Leo XIV, it seems his journey may not be without some headline-grabbing family baggage.
