Nasty C, a South African international rapper, used to be a great Orlando Pirates supporter, but that all changed when his father made the decision to abandon him after giving him three tickets to a live game.
The “Stalling” hitmaker recently shared a full-circle story on Instagram about how, more than 10 years later, award-winning rapper Domani Harris invited him to a soccer game in California.
Nasty C detailed how he and his “pops” became close because they shared a love of soccer and were the only two members of their family to cheer for Orlando Pirates. However, Nasty C said that all changed when his dad “snubbed” him in favour of taking his siblings to a live soccer game.
“Then one day, when I was about 13 years old or so, my dad gave me three tickets to see the @orlandopirates perform, and I knew I was going to have the time of my life with my older brother and my parents. but instead, I GOT SNIPPED & they grabbed my other brother @siyabonga4117, who was a lover of @kcfcofficial & DID NOT CARE ABOUT SOCCER!!
“ON THAT DAY, KAIZER WAS NOT EVEN PLAYING!” I really felt a knot in my throat the whole day, and ever then, I couldn’t give a f**k about soccer. AT ALL.”
The “Phases” singer continued by explaining how he skipped every practise session and stuck to music, something they didn’t appreciate or approve of.
“Yes, ni**a, I was resentful and upset!! Fast forward more than ten years, and I am asked to witness a live game for the first time ever from across the globe! by @domani, the son, incidentally, of the person who made me want to rap. How absolutely insane is that, he wrote.
To spite his father, he posted the message.
The child in me wants to hold this L up to @tevywevy33 & pops’ face, but I didn’t plan to go that serious. Lmao with love, however.
Also thanking Harris for the invitation, the rapper said that Canadian record producer Murda Beatz and “Boo’d Up” singer Ella Mai were sitting next to him during the game.
