MTFza is a groundbreaking 12-month industry readiness program designed to cultivate emerging talent in the African TV and film industry.
This immersive initiative provides participants with unparalleled opportunities to learn from industry leaders and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of content creation, including directing, producing, cinematography, and commissioning.
Program Structure
This educational initiative focuses on developing TV and film expertise through a comprehensive 12-month curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
Covering cinematography, editing, audio production, and storytelling, MTFza stands as the first academy of its kind, spanning three regions and encompassing 13 countries across Africa.
Sixty aspiring individuals with a passion for innovation in film and television production are selected annually to refine their skills alongside seasoned industry professionals.
Regional Academies
The MTFza program operates through accredited regional academies strategically located in Kenya (for East Africa), Nigeria (for West Africa), and Zambia (for Southern Africa).
Collaborating with esteemed local academic institutions, the program ensures a holistic and region-specific approach to talent development.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for MTFza, candidates must be South African citizens who have completed a 3-year Diploma/Degree in film and TV or a related field (Drama, Acting, Journalism, etc.) within the last 2 years. A minimum C+ aggregate is required to qualify.
Application Process
Applicants are required to submit a concise CV (not exceeding 2 pages) and a personal motivation letter (not exceeding 500 words) explaining why they should be chosen for the program.
Certified copies of the South African Identity Document, academic transcripts or tertiary qualification certificate, verified banking details, and proof of residential address with an affidavit must accompany the application.
